like to say Mazel Tov! Shalom Baby is an outreach program designed to welcome
parents and their newborns into the Jewish community.y.
Shalom Baby is a volunteer run program committed to reaching out to Jewish
families with new children and welcoming them into the Jewish community of
Greater Vancouver. The special gifts in our welcome basket are prepared by the
VIP groupup at the
Jewish Family
Service VIP Program (Very Important Partners)
Shalom Baby is designed to welcome Jewish babies to Greater Vancouver and to the
Jewish Community. By extending a hand of friendship to families who have
recently experienced the birth or adoption of a child, your family is invited to
become an integral part of the Greater Vancouver Jewish Community. Let us
introduce you to the Jewish Community Center, the Jewish Federation of Greater
Vancouver, congregations and other Jewish organizations.
How does it work? Participating families receive a welcome call from a Shalom
Baby professional who initiates contact, addresses any immediate issues, and
sets a time for a Shalom Baby kit to be delivered (if possible). The volunteer
personally welcomes the family into the community. The Shalom Baby basket
contains a Jewish Community Resource Guide publication, coupons, and many
special baby gifts.
