mission of the Information Welcome Service is

To be the central information, referral and welcome service of the British Columbia Jewish Community
-
To provide up-to-date information about Jewish resources and activities available to all Jewish people who live in and visit Vancouver and the Lower Mainland area
- To give special emphasis to helping newcomers to become familiar and comfortable with the British Columbia Jewish community
- To document and report unmet needs of the community for the benefit of the Social Planning committee of the Jewish Federation to more effectively plan for major service gaps.
The mission of the Volunteer Centre is
- To contribute to the vitality of the British Columbia Jewish Community by providing diverse and satisfying opportunities for volunteer involvement.
- To enrich and extend the services of Jewish organizations and agencies by creating new connections between them and volunteers of all ages, abilities, levels of commitment (including those for whom this is their first involvement).
- To educate and empower individuals to perform mitzvoth (good deeds) and make a difference in their Jewish community.
- To assist organizations to broaden their vision of the role of volunteers in order to enhance the Jewish roles of learning, caring and social justice.
- To advocate for and celebrate volunteerism.
